“Our old space was quintessential ‘old-school law firm’ in design and function, featuring a lot of dark wood and heavy furniture. Moving to these new offices has been a total night and day switch.”
In 2013, Environments 4 Business in collaboration with architect ASD | SKY created a warm, bright office space for this downtown Cleveland Law Firm amongst a storm.
Although this project looks brighter than sunshine, Hurricane Sandy created many schedule challenges during both construction and furniture installation.
This newly built high-rise office building had multiple tenant move-ins during the same time and it took coordinating the elevator three months in advance, scheduling third-shift truck deliveries and midnight installs to get the space ready on-time for the client.
The beautiful, new open Law office encompasses a robust selection of products from Allsteel, Gunlocke, HBF, Bernhardt and more. Compact design drove the furniture selection, as the sleek, efficient office spaces couldn’t hold the traditional, heavy wood “lawyer” desks, credenzas and bookcases. Attorneys’ offices needed to be streamlined, yet efficiently planned for workspace and storage needs. The storage needs could be met by the Gunlocke Silea line because it can be configured in many ways. The Law Firm decided to offer its attorneys four different storage and workspace layout options. The firm also offered, for each option, the choice of a standard work surface or an adjustable sit-to-stand feature. Three of the four options were u-shaped. Storage size and options varied among the layouts, combining mixes of overhead and lateral storage.
The firm selected office and conference room solutions from Gunlocke, long known for designing and producing fine-quality wood furnishings. Gunlocke Converge conference tables, featuring custom granite or glass tops, in several conference rooms, including a large, centerpiece table with a tapered granite top in a video conferencing center.
